My 2009 Audi A6 Avant (3.0tfsi) has been getting the P2277 error code which is due to a faulty Barometric Pressure Sensor. The check engine light just came on when I started the car on a chilly day one morning. I cleared the codes using Carista and later on using VCDS and the code cannot be cleared (Permanent Code). However, it doesn't appear to affect the drivability of the car.
I decided to replace the battery as it's fairly old and it did not fix the issue. I decided to replace all 3 MAP sensors (no MAF sensors on this car) and the error initially went away but eventually came back. I have the EPL stage 2 tune & flashed it back to stock and still the same issue. Based on my research, it seems that the barometric pressure sensor is inside the ECU (Continental 4F19105551 Simos 8.3).
I'm now contacting a few ecu repair/cloning companies to get a quote on either the ecu repair or getting a replacement donor ECU (which seems to be fairly cheap on ebay) and get it cloned. Also wondering if I go with the cloning solution, if I would need the immobilizer to be reprogrammed as well. Just weighing on all my options and what would be the most cost-effective solution. I just thought I would share this here and will update this post once I get this resolved to help anyone else down the line who encounters the same issue.
