    installed used rack i need help.

    its for a c7 A6 and yes i didnt post there because its dead so i rather ask here, installed a used rack and connected it and all and code says lost communication with control module its a static code i cant erase it vis obd11 does coding need to be done for it to reset?

    I know it’s not Audi but I work at a can am dealer that sells spyders. They have an advanced stability control system along with abs and traction control, full canbus etc. any time we replace anything with a module that communicates with others we have to program it using their software. I can’t imagine how this is a simple bolt on item. Sorry I can’t say for sure but if I had to guess I’d say it needs calibrated.

    Another person who had done the electric rack swap said all they had to do was relearn the end stops. Could be you have an issue with the wiring to the rack that is interrupting the CAN connection or power delivery?
