Oil sepator

So after my engine rebuild mechanic said to me get oil separator hose or get a idk how it is said in english like a cone filter attached to somewhere..Could it be called breather valve or smth?Also idk where is oil separator located on 1.8t longtitudal engine...

What he meant more than likely, is get a oil catch can. He mentioned the tiny air filter because he probably wants you to vent the Crankcase to atmosphere. I think most people on here do use the catch can but end up recirculating the gasses back to the stock intake location.
