Im thinking of buying a MY2018 S6/S7 and wondering if the turbo/screen, motor mount, PCV issues are still the same or have they been resolved by this time? Thanks

There's a section in the NHTSA report on the turbo issues that says that the 2018s have the correct turbo screen fix. Based on the info I've seen, the 2018s have the same effective solution as what the recall fix applies.

I'm not sure if the other items on your list are fixed but I believe the PCV has extended warranty. You should also look at what state the vehicle was originally sold in since CARB states have extended warranty coverage on many important items.

FWIW it took them years to decide to make the screen holes larger. Some say maybe it will take more years to realize they are still not large enough. LoL. Which is why some remove it altogether.
Also others have mentioned a replacement PCV (latest rev) also fails.
    There are no guarantees.

Glass half-empty outlook today, Gk1... geesh. haha ;)

You definitely didn't lie about either though. I have roughly 30k miles on the new rev PCV, and still zero oil consumption between OCI. New rev Turbo screen is still up the in the air, but maybe a glass half-full view: the MY18 have not reported failures (or extremely low, if any) in the 4-5yrs the cars have been in service, which cannot be said for the previous rev oil screen.

Motor mounts are still a huge issue, but now have aftermarket options, along with control arms - nature of the beast buying these heavy, high-hp performance saloon's

    True. Lol

What I feel I have discovered by my own oil filter investigations is the 4.0T is simply put... a filthy motor. Whatever is going on creates debris in the oil, and it sound like Audi knew this and put in screens to mitigate this debris going into areas that it deemed could be a potential warranty/safety issue (turbo journal mearings?) but the side effect is the screen itself clogs and causes oil starvation. If you religiously change your oil and filter at an old school OCI of 3k or 5k like myself then maybe you can get a little longer before any serious issues and perhaps even a little bit more with the new screen. I may see how it pans out if I'm at 76k miles on original turbos 62k of them tuned but I am back to stock now. I currently have no plans to tune anything and see how long I can go unless I trade or sell.

The way I look at it is the recall just came out here in 2022 on a car that started in 2012..so it took a decade! Even if it was revised in 2018 they may not do anything about it until 2028. It is the best solution we got right now unless you opt for full removal it is just a shame it took so longer for Audi to recognize and do something about it, and not covering people who are tuned for an issue that is obviously known to occur stock is just a slap in the face to loyal customers/fans of the brand.

FWIW my original screen was not horrid by my eye at 65k miles and definitely not baked-in type of clogged as the debris that was there wiped away with extreme ease. (May have even just been from the tech/dirty work area. shrug)

But you are right the other things are still issues.
    Motor mounts
    Control arms
oil and coolant turbo feed o-rings
maybe even thermostat. (but you can argue that is a consumed item on any vehicle.)
Sometimes these things do get fixed with revisions and newer parts, but not always.

As you said they are big, heavy, expensive, high-hp vehicles with high repair price tags.
Still, at this point, they will have to pry my V8 from my cold dead hands as I have yet to feel anything new is really made "better" than my C7 S6 and covid has not helped.

Thanks for the responses everyone. The silver lining is that we know where the trouble areas are and can watch them closely before they get more serious (and more expensive).

Preach! I have been toying with selling, knowing how much I can potentially get, but this ^ fact keeps me hanging on.
