Hood release lever

Uhhhh while I was driving this morning the lever inside the car to release the hood just fell off…I haven’t used that in a couple months since I changed the oil. It was fine then.

Is this a big problem or will it just go back into the hole? Didn’t have a chance to really check it out since work and everything

it's fine. there is a tab on the back of the lever that is probably depressed in Pull it out or push it in until it's flushand itll lock in.
