Can a wireless charger be added

Can we add this after the fact…?

Thought mine had one, it doesn’t and I’m annoyed by that…

There’s no good place to put your phone in here… if a company came up with a mount that fit into the slot where they removed the MMI dial (they should have kept that), they’d make a killing…

There's this one: ZChan Wireless Charger for Audi A4/A5 2017-2022,Center Console 15W Wireless Charger Pad with QC 3.0 USB Fast Charging Port,Phone Charging Station for Car Apply to Wireless Charge Supported Phones. https://a.co/d/c6tgO1M

I have a generic 15w charging pad in the center console. In my experience wireless chargers while running wireless AA or CarPlay do nothing but generate heat though. If you're battery is already full it will maintain that, but charging from 40 or 50% won't net you much unless you're on a road trip and have several hours to charge, and don't mind a hot phone (which isn't good for battery life). I've recently gone back to regular wired charging along with my wireless AA.

I don’t really need one, I’ve survived this long without one, just figured it would be a nice extra…

Still trying to find a hood spot for phone placement, it slides around wherever I put it unless I throw it under the armrest… I also don’t want to put a mount on the dash cause it’s such a clean look, I like to see everything…

    Thanks for the reply

I have have had this one for over a year now and am happy with it. Very subtle and out of the way. Some of the larger iphones and galaxy phones have some fitment issues but it still charges. Its good for the price, though I would have loved if there was one that fit in the center armrest cubby and had wires carplay capabilities.

Here's the OEM wireless charger that fits into the center armrest: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001669534835.html You'll need to disassemble the center console to hook up the wiring.

This is what I did. But like I said running wireless AA and simultaneously wireless charging doesn't do much but generate heat.

What are the two "boxes" for (behind the charging pad and attached to the bottom of the arm rest)?

One is a Racebox (like a Dragy) and the other is my AA Wireless dongle.
