    034 stock tune file after 2019 RS3 ECU recall/update

    Hi All,

Does anyone with the 034 dynamic+ tune know if the stock file available on their portal contains the newest update/recall administered by the dealership this year?

I've seen similar threads that other tuners have addressed this but have not been able to find any info from 034.

I was stage 1, had the recall done, and now would like to make sure that we have the newest patch on the portal in case I need to go back to the dealership for whatever reason.

    Thanks

I am genuinely curious, and not at all being confrontational, so please forgive the phrasing, and bluntness of my response:

What does it matter if your tuner has the post PCV recall stock tune?

Your VIN and ECU has already been updated with Audi. By their standard, you're already updated and cleared their recall requirements. As explained to me by Audi and not having smog in VA Beach, "It's your car, you dont have to do it."

Your ECU flash count is already off from Germany by having a higher flash count than theirs. Once again, Audi maintenance people said "if another recall comes out, we're obligated to offer and fix it, regardless of your tune and TD1 status."

Being a somewhat computer type, when we patch computers at work, we dont only update the current issue because computers come online at different times and dates, we ensure all new updates and patches have the previous patches too. That leads me to believe the next update or recall fix will include this one (PCV recall). Further, if you have a stock file, it will be overwritten with the new hotness that encompasses all previous updates. This can be corroborated by the pre-2018.5 MMI screens now locked upright after updating in 2019-2022.

Once again, not being confrontational and genuinely would like to know if I am missing something. I could be wrong.

All, I stand corrected, especially for California. In VA, they do not check recalls for registration.

So having the updated fix when doing smog in any state with a sniffer would be helpful when going back to stock.

Apologies for my ignorance and semi-highjacking the thread with stupidity.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I guess that is my main reason for asking- when I need to smog it would be nice to know that the stock file waiting for me will still pass.

When i did the pcv update, they gave me a form saying the update was completed. I know you need proof you did it for future registration. If you bring that to smog, I would guess that is all you need.
    Don't quote me though.
Some of 034 stage 2 tunes have been updated based on my 2020 after the pcv update was added, so they should address the pcv update.
