    RS7 Milltek Catback Touching Crossframe

Has anyone had an issue with one of the pipes (right from rear) touching the cross frame covering it? Located mid section. If so, what was your remedy? Everything else has been inspected, adjusted, and tightened.

Had a pretty bad rattle so wedged a piece of rubber between the pipe and subframe and the noise is gone, but the vibrations are still highly noticeable when shifting into lower gears. I do know that a lot will be expected with the upgrade but this is unusual.

    Thanks!

This is sad as you would think they would've fixed this. The exact same problem haunts the Milltek on the C7. The options for the C7 are to use washers to act as spacers on the bolts that hold the cross frame to make it drop down a little bit to give it some clearance from the Milltek so it doesn't rub. The APR exhaust for the C7 comes with a replacement crossbrace that is designed to provide extra clearance for the pipes and for the price the Milltek really should as well.

I couldn't agree with you more! I emailed Milltek and their response is "If there is a rattle present that can be felt through the chassis then that would normally indicate a part is making contact with the chassis/bodywork.

We would advise having the full system inspected both when cold and when at full operating temperature after a test drive." Basic answer, not surprised a bit!

We have sold and installed quite a few of these Milltek systems now without any issues. There are lots of adjustment points with the Milltek system, its worth a shot to have the installer look it over hot / cold to verify they have adjusted where they can.
