    Draining Iroz Catch Can

So I tried draining my oil catch can for the first time today since I figured I’d have oil after being on built motor stage 2 for 1200 miles give or take. I removed the one screw holding it in place and attached a rubber hose. However, when I opened up the release valve the oil didn’t come out through the hose but rather through the center of the valve screw from what I can tell. The amount of oil was minuscule, I would say less than an ounce came out. Something seems off so I’m looking for pointers. TIA!

Not much oil comes out in 1200 miles, sounds normal. The oil came out of the valve screw?

Oh man, saw this on Thanksgiving and wanted to get a picture for you and completely forgot to reply. But yeah, if you look in this picture:

You can see a hole in the center and that’s where the oil came out.

Yeah. That's fairly normal as far as the amount is concerned. I was a bit concerned about how little came out of mine considering the massive amount of white smoke coming from my exhaust after I get off the throttle after a pull. But, it turned out to be something that looks a lot like eggnog coming out of my catch can. It's a mixture of E and my oil, which I was reassured is normal for these cars. However, only maybe 2-3 ounces came out.

However, I didn't have any leakage around my hose. I would doublecheck that the fitting is on there good and if so, maybe put a small clamp around the drain hose. But it would seem really odd for it to come out through the center. That would mean the valve seal itself is bad and you'd have to replace that.
