    I am looking for upgraded front brake pads. I have some ceramic front brake pads to reduce brake dust but the stopping power isn’t the same. I was on the freeway and had to do a sudden stop and it seemed the car took some time to stop and to actually activate the ABS. Also, there is some brake fade when the ceramic pads get hotter with some hill driving. I like the OEM bite and stopping power but the OEM seem to also fade when hotter. What pads are out there that are street pads that actually have a hotter temperature limit with OEM stopping power and bite…I don’t care about the dust, I care about safety first.
    Porterfield R4s?

    One of the best factory style pads out there, ceramic, low dust, great bite.

    yeah i use akebono also but there is no magic bullet . there are always trade offs . I find OE pads provide amazing bite with little fade but get the car incredidibly dirty . and the less dirt you get the less bite you get as a general rule.

    Sounds like you have brake fade issue that goes beyond pads especially for a street driven car. if you are tracking its a whole different discussion. But if you are talking about brake fade on a street driven car i would think there is more going on.

    I swear by StopTech sport pads, which are the same pads they include in the BBKs. They are a kevlar composite and perform well for daily driving, but can also take the heat from autox events and track days (even in texas summers). Ive ran them exclusively for over a decade on 5 diff platforms (Ford, Mazda, and Audi) doing track days, spirited drives, autox seasons, and daily duty - never skipped a beat.

    Im not concerned about dust (they do dust, but a little better than OEM), and have tried countless pads. None provide the same 'value' - cost to performance.

    FWIW, on all the cars I also ran/run SS lines and RBF660 fluid.

    hawk 5.0 HPS pads always worked great for me. they are not ceramic based. they are semi metallic. so if your picky about break dust on your rims. these are not for you. but they do have incredible stopping

    Audi OEM or dud. It's all I've used and all I've known. Great stopping power. Excellent brakes!

    I've been using Centric ceramic pads...the upgraded ones. part number starts with a 3. I also stopped cutting the rotors and I've been replacing them with raybestos coated units.
    I drive 20K miles a year and I've put around 200,000 miles on these between my current B7 in my previous B6 they're fairly clean and give me good long life. I find that they perform just like oem.

    I used Brembo ceramics first on my macan/s4 setup. They were decent, but absolutely filthy pads. Then went with Akebono, and been solid. Don't track it, but drive it "spiritedly" here and there, and never an issue. Only negative ive noticed is in winter, sometimes they'll screek/howl the first time I apply them when cold. Theyre a great oem feel pad, with minimal dust. Run powerstop carbon/ceramic pads on my girls Legacy GT, and they seem pretty good also. Stock calipers on her car.
