Glass Question for B9 SQ5 - insulated glass?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
The GF recently acquired a '20 SQ5 Prem Plus however there are some very bizarre scratches on the front passenger glass. It's not something in the track causing it but they are just long and deep enough where the window needs to be replaced. Unsure how this happened but its frustrating. When quickly looking at Safelite they ask the option on OEM glass if it is sound insulated or not. Can anyone confirm?

I've read that Prestige comes with 'insulated' not Prem Plus and that I would notice if it was. Is there a way to confirm so we dont have a different glass panel for one section of the car lol

"Dual pane acoustic glass for front side windows" is standard on the Prestige, not available on Premium or Premium Plus.

Check the PR codes on the vehicle identification sticker to confirm.

But not all 100+ PR codes are on the sticker. You'd have to get the complete list for your VIN from your dealership or AoA to be sure it's not listed.

Then again, it's not going to be, was never an option for non-Prestige.

As for looking at the glass itself, maybe, maybe not, seemed to be what came out of another thread where this same question came up (forget if it was the A4, S4, or A5/S5 forum, or maybe another board).

As mentioned, it’s only on the Prestige trim.

You can roll the window down and visibly see two layers of glass if you have the insulated option.

    This

... and this is a pretty damn great option on prestige for long rides on the freeway when you want some comfort

Yea, I have to say I was surprised at how loud the wind noise on the highway is. Not exactly what I expected from an Audi.
