    OEM HID vs. aftermarket HID

I'm looking to upgrade from halogen headlights to HID headlights and I leaning towards OEM HID because I have used many different brand aftermarket HID kits and everyone of them have troubles turning on the xenon bulbs in the freezing cold weather. I don't want to deal with the problem. In my search the B5 OEM ballasts are no longer available

Has anyone modify these ballasts to work on B5 cars?

Good quality aftermarket LED bulbs drop in and do a great job. Love mine. Don't trust the crap on Amazon, etc.

Hikari ( and Acuma) LED's are the best you can get(look it up if you want). I've got lowest ones and I am very satisifed.

If so Xenon ballasts are available, just dont try getting the cheapest ones. Also I am sure you can get em used easily.

You can consider using the Morimoto HID kit that many a4/S4 owners have used for years! I have them om my STG3 B5 S4 with no issues after 3 years.. I just purchased a new set from Retrofit Source.com for my B5 A4 1.8 qm with Depo headlights. Blackish Friday 20% off. I paid $180 total shipped.
