Is there dirt between the camera and the exterior lens? If I pressure wash mine, I can flood out all the crap and when it dries it looks fine. I don't pressure wash it just to clean it, but when I am cleaning the car, it happens.

I cant see any dirt. So you're saying you pressure wash it to remove the dirt? I try cleaning it, but just the outside lens.

I am guessing the exterior part of the camera lens is made from sapphire to take stones without chipping. If I were to drool mud down the hood and let it cascade over the camera lens with no pressure and let it dry and then wipe the lens, it will be blurry. Same with salty or soapy water. If I pressure wash the camera area and flood it with clean water, the image is clear.

So, it's just a theory but I'm 90 percent sure the exterior of the camera is like a protective contact lens on your eye, and the dirt is between the contact lens and your eye.

The lens needs to be buffed out with a polish first just to be certain it's not too far gone. It looks like it had major UV damage or there is bubbles under the lens. You could use a heat gun/blow drier to low heat to see if it's water but I would try a plastic polish first.

Did the image become blurry gradually or suddenly? The rear has both sharp and blurry areas; I assume that means the problem is with the optics rather than the image processor.
