Good news, no leaks (for now )motor running beautifully, little to no chain rattle, idles and revs quite nicely.

    Steering and suspension quite impressive.......

Bad News........Shes sluggish off the line which im almost certain is a transmission fluid related issue. No hard shifts or clunking but they are minorly delayed. It almost seems to me like there is a delay in pressure build up.

I had a very slight leak and replaced one of the trans lines. I ran her up to 35° Celsius which I mistakenly thought was 85° Fahrenheit, not 95° and pumped in 2 quarts of royal purple. I ran her through all gears with 5 second pauses and it seemed like the magic temp hit as she began spewing out fluid. My underling was perhaps a little quick to cap her off in hindsight. I wasnt sure how long I should wait after overfill. I think she was still trickling and we were caught off guard by the sizeable dump after a few second pause after removing the fill tube.

Im curious as to if anyone might deem her overfilled or undefilled. She doesn't seem to be slipping, and she shifts smoothly between all gears, noticeable difference between D, sport and triptronic, she just a little sluggish off the line. If I really get on her until she's moving, then she's fine, much more power and response above 3k rpm. In park she revs beautifully and even in this sluggish take off it seems like the engine is performing as it should, just not getting power to the wheels of the line.
Im happy to drain and refill, or fully service, just hate wasting good fluids. I honestly think she is just a hair over or underfilled. The Trans code i was getting is 18265 Load Signal Error Message From.Engine CM -TMD. Swapped MAF, nill to slight improvement but no more code.......Trans fluid is new Royal purple , monitored coolant , oil, and trans fluid temps all well within spec. Zero leaks.

I took her for two laps around my shop/mancave noticed this right away, didn't push her hard. before I tear in was most curious what if anyone wiser had any thoughts? Appreciate ALL of your help more than you know!

I owned and driven a wide variety of sports and muscle cars over the years. Am I the only one who feels like Mad Max driving these awd beasts? Love everthing about her from the Recaro seats to the handling. One more hurdle even if it proves a big one to learn what she can do......

It sounds like you filled it correctly. The method I use, to check vw/audi for underfilled, is manual downshift to first when slowing down to a stop. It usually will slam into first after a short delay, if its underfilled. I had an auto b6 s4 for a short while. It also, shifted smooth as butter, but I remember it had that same delay off the line. I don't know about common problems with these auto's, but you might look into torque converters and shift solenoids. Good luck! I'm sure somebody here will have more insight.

And yes, the confidence in driving an awd v8 does rock!

Thank you Sir! I will check that first. Sounds like I might need to better inspect.
