    Advice: excessive wear on side edges of front tires

    2007 2.0t s-line avant.

    In about 10k miles my front tires wear out at the very inside edge of the tires.

    I’ve had an alignment, had it checked again and no issues that anyone could see. ALL front suspension has been done except springs. Replaced with genuine OEM and pre-set bushings before tightening.

    I’m at a loss of where to go from here as I want to keep that car but blowing through tires is not fun!

    If your ca bushings are all in good shape. I would suggest less negative camber . Did they give you before and after alignment numbers ?. What compound are you running and do you drive it aggressively ?

    The OEM alignment specs will chew thru tires. The combination of a little bit of camber and the amount of toe that Audi recommends is what is doing it. Are you lowered? Regardless if you are lowered or not, find an alignment shop that will set the alignment to have the camber be from the middle of the recommended setting to the minimum of the recommended setting and set the toe right at the minimum or even a little less.

    Many alignment shops will not do this. They will set it to the middle of the recommended camber and the middle of the recommended toe and send you on your way to chew thru tires.

    What tires and pressures are you using? I have Michelin A/S 4 at 35 psi,stock alignment and not had any wearing issues.

    2017 B9 A4 Technik, 2.0T, 6 spd manual, S-Line, quattro with Ultra
    2008 B7 A4 Avant, 2.0T, 6MTQS, S-Line, Special Edition

    Past: - 2005 B6 A4 3.0 V6 6MTQS, 1998 B5 A4 2.8 V6 5MTQS

    I think this is why numbers are more important than " alignment is fine . ".
    Too much toe out will scrub off the inside of those tires even driving in a straight line.

    I've had the same issue with both my B7 and my previous B6. No one has been able to figure it out, not the dealer or independent shops.
    I combat this by rotating my tires religiously every 7 to 8k miles. This way I get 40k out of a set!
