    LEDs or HID kit?

I have the stock halogen bulbs. Was looking for alittle bit more. So was debating on which route to go. I was going to buy a decent set that doesn’t set the bulb out warning. But was looking for insight on which one? Thanks

We'll definitely a hid kit. Sticking leds in your headlights only makes other drivers angry when you blind them.

Same thing happens when you put in a HID bulb in a housing thats not designed for it. So do everyone a favor and either swap the headlights for ones with HID's and avoid being an asshat on the road blinding other drivers.

They have projector lenses already. So assumed it would have a nice cutoff that wouldn’t blind people? So no harm in a brighter bulb?

Apples and oranges between halogen and hid. You need the correct housings and will need ballasts for the hid lights as well. Not a simple plug and play.

So are halogen projector lens and HID/LED projector lens different? I know the HID needs a ballast but the kits come with them. It is a simple plug and play with the kits. In my younger years I had a few sets on a mustang. (Terrible idea in reflector housings)

I could be wrong but the projector bowls are different as the reflecting pattern is different between halogen and hid. I’m not sure what kit you are referring to. I’m assuming they are single xenon and you will need to retain your high beam bulbs. Unless the kit is made for it, the housings are different between the typical hid bulbs that Audi uses and the conventional H7 or H11 bulbs. If it’s an aftermarket kit, it may be designed for the halogen housing.

You will have to change your coding to tell the ECU you have HID’s. The other issue I see is the headlight connectors. They most likely are going to be different.

Factory HID headlights are a direct swap with Halogen units. Same plug and no coding needed.
