    Auto-wiper adjustments

2015 B8.5 S5 Cab. Been searching and I don't think it's possible but rainy fall has me thinking about it again. I'd love to be able to set the max speed for the auto-setting on my wipers to the medium speed position 2 on the stalk gives you and just lock out max speed on auto entirely. No matter where I position the slider in a light to moderate rain auto seems determined to set the wipers to max speed. Short of a monsoon where I can barely see the end of my hood there is no reason to have the wipers set that high IMO. I often find myself just going 1 click past auto to "medium" and leaving it there just to slow them down.

I know, first world problems. But the fact that I can change just about everything else in the car in VCDS makes me think somewhere there should be a setting for "max speed on auto".

Stalk has auto, low, high if you have the RLS (rain light sensor), which I believe all US B8.5 do. Auto doesn't set a wipe speed but the wipe intermittency. As the intermittency climbs, the wipe speed increases as necessary to support the increased wipe frequency.

You might have a problem with the RLS sensitivity to rain detection, giving the system an impression that heavy rain is present. I don't know if there's some kind of recalibration basic setting / adaptation that can be done or checked to see if the car is misreading the windshield situation.

I hate when wipers are going 1000mph or when I feel I don’t need them. That’s the reason I turned off the rain sensor. I would try that first.

I really like the auto-sensing wipers, I just wish I could disable the highest speed while they were in auto. For that .01% of rain storms where I actually need them on spaz I'll just set them to spaz.

I wish Audi has a spaz speed. Max speed is way too slow for real Georgia rains. Far slower than what my G35 could do.
