Hey guys, new AR owner here, why didn't I do this sooner?!!?

Hey guys, my names Kevin I am from the North East corner of CT.

Ive always wanted a 2.7/6mt car and my lifestyle means I needed a wagon before I got into an S4 or something of the like. The extra space is a huge plus for me. I found this 01 Allroad 2.7t/6mt and had to go look at it.

I grabbed this 2 weeks ago and Got stacks of dealer paper work, notebooks, and manuals.

Special order 01 no sunroof no heated seats.

    Factory trailer hitch

Body has no rot or rust.

No warning lights. No funny smells or noises. Interior is sooooo clean.

Boxes n boxes of spare parts.

I have already done 1500 miles (not normal but I have been taking the long way, the dirt roads, the morning cruise...) and I absolutely love this thing. The last german car I had was my 1995 m3 and I really thoroughly enjoyed that car but I HAVE NEVER had anything that drove like this. Not a rattle in the cabin, no jarring bounces, everything works, heat, ac, fully functional air ride. I really do believe this car is going to stay stock besides exhaust (suggestions are welcome, this is new ground to me guys , never once owned an audi or a vw except my 86 gli jetta 15 years ago, also the cats were just replaced with factory at the dealer not too long ago, have receipts not sure if they are worth anything or if I should keep them on since I like the lack of drone), window tint , some sort of radio with blue tooth (looking for suggestions here as well, I love the layout of the factory setup wish I could keep it) , and lighting. The car presents itself very well but it has its small beauty marks, I think it deserves a repaint and I think next spring I am going to schedule with my buddy. I really am super taken back by this thing.

Just had new tires mounted and balanced last night at my place after replacing both the upper and lower control arms up front on both sides , sway bar links and tie rod ends. Factory air ride still in tact.

These new Toyo Celsius Sports are fucking awesome, I cannot wait to see if they handle well in the snow like they do on the dry pavement.

Haven't done a whole lot aside from the front suspension work but man, after looking over the car and examining it, nothing is intimidating I think theres a lot of hooplah from people who don't own them that give them a bad juju.......anyways I just wet sanded, buffed, sealed and ceramic coated the factory Xenons. Ceramic coated all the glass, going to ceramic coat the wheels next.
I have the ECS 2.0 Coil conversion and 034motorsports pcv spider hose assembly on deck.

Cars friggen sweet. Its not perfect, looks good from this distance outside , inside is immaculate and she runs and drives amazing. I wish I bought one of these so long ago.

Nice find, the slicktop allroad is RARE.

If you are not looking into doing performance mods, I love the sound of a simple rear muffler delete. Cheap, sounds great, not crazy loud but let's you know that it's not an ordinary V6. Have done this mod to every c5 I have ever owned within the first or second week of buying it.

I was honestly thinking about doing a stage 1 tune and gut my factory cats, thats about it. I really like the car stock though. I would do things like motor/trans mounts as well as the jhm shifter setup. That would really be it.

If it's still got the precats in the downpipes, gut those. Leave the main cats alone. Beyond that a conservative boost tune on stock turbos will go a long way. Your tuner can also save you future heartache by coding out the secondary air injection and EGT's - if he's good, it can be done while maintaining ECU "readiness" for emissions.

Congratulations! Looks like an awesome car! Plenty you could do and should do. I bet you know most of it already and/or the previous owner loved it like it should have been. Most are neglected.
    How many miles on it?

It's basically had all recommended maintenance done at the recommended intervals it's whole life. It has 190k but you'd swear or had 80k. Only the cars exterior and driver seat gives it's age away. In the spring it is getting a respray like the 4.2 versions (matched).

I've got a list I'd like to start checking off of simple things here and there and at some point I'd like to rebuild one of these motors and replace what's in there but no need to do it now.

Very nice. Kind of what I expected. If I may suggest based off my experience unless you’ve got it documented:
    -Trans and rear diff flush
-Coolant flush, including drain from the block
-Air compressor rebuild from bagpippin’ andy
-Timing belt change with water pump, thermostat, pulleys, upgrade to the metal thermostat housing, and tensioner.
    -Lubricate your door lock mechanisms.

Enjoy! Happy to see someone so excited in an Audi. Hopefully it’ll treat you well!

I did have diff and trans flush on the list. Researching which fluids now and wanted a magnetic drain plug for both.

The timing belt and water pump were serviced 15k miles ago so I've got some time before I dive back in there.

I do kno the air compressor was rebuilt within the last 45ish thousand miles as well.

I want to run through all maintenance related items. Update the motor/trans mounts. Gut my precats and do a mild tune on the car. Update flywheel and clutch (due for a clutch within next 10 to 15k I'm sure) and then in spring give the car a repaint.

Anyone have good luck with the ECS Brake rotors? my ebrake is on its last leg and rear rotors are also needing replacement. I am not going to be racing this car but like the look of slotted rotors and the black hub coatings.

What fluids are people suggesting for rear diff and trans? It was the first morning in the 20* area here with many more, much colder days on the way. I did not see any record of trans fluid being replaced and I think it could definitely benefit from a flush!

I helped a friend a few years back do a ECS branded brake job on his B7. We replaced them all within 18 months. He found another set of rotors that aesthetically he liked and performed better.

    I’m running Fuchs Sintofluid 75W-90.
