vag com cable for adding a tune?

hello everyone, my first real post
i got myself a nice 2013 a6. 3.0t with 99,000 km. sport package prestige trim

really enjoying it and planning on doing a few basic mods

    carrier bearing support
    delete cats for test pipes
    add a stage 1 tune.

my first issue is , the car has the original battery from the factory. i have purchased a new AGM battery to match. i understand this has to be programmed into the car.

my options for this is the obd eleven platform or the vagcom. i have read a bit on both.

my one question is, since a tune is in the future, is the vagcom cable able to double as the tuning cable. i know that obd eleven can not. if it can i will get the vagcom platform for sure.

    thanks

You already know that answer, VCDS. But if budget is a factor, obd11 is very capable

You need the HP tuner cable if you want to tune your car by yourself.

They both can do the same Job, ob11 is more friendly user for coding.

    Thats my point.

I asked more for those whom are new to the market.

While I have very limited knowledge or experience with coding and whatnot, I bought a VCDS last year because it is capable of doing much more than OBD11.

If you have very limited experience, i suggest the OB11. Very friendly user compared to Vagcom.

Do you happen to know if OBDEleven will allow me to enable the VIM feature on my B9 S5?! I have the HexNet and can’t freaking crack it with that cable, man.
