Is adding a rear sway bar worth it?

Back with my A3 a RSB was what I considered a top 10 mod for the platform as it really made the car handle better, reduced squat, and made it feel like it was on rails.

I just purchased one as my last piece I wanted to add before my first track day with this car, but after doing more reading it seems like people are saying the sport suspension is fine (I have sport suspension and diff) and a RSB isn't really worth the money.

For those that got one, is it worth it? Im not lowered yet, but I'd rather spend the money on something I would get more functional value for especially for the track.

Absolutely yes yes yes yes yes. I've got everything done to my car you can get function wise, short of stage 3, and the sway bar is the most noticeable mod. Don't even wait for other replies lol just buy it

Huge difference. I put one on with stock sport suspension also and it helped a ton. Then it got even flatter when I put on EMD springs. Now I'm about to get a strutt tower brace

Very much worth it. Get the endlinks too.

Is the thought that the rear bar is undersized from the factory and the aftermarket bar helps dial in neutral handling?

Thanks all, guess we'll see how it feels once I install it

I plan on getting both front and rear end-links once I get my coilovers. I think the stock end-links will be fine for now on stock ride height. Will see how the bar and stock endlinks fits on the stiffest setting and will probably end of buying adjustable endlinks if I don't like how it sits.

Generally, a stiffer rear end would tend to bias the car towards oversteer. Virtually all production cars are tuned towards understeer for comfort and liability reasons. Going to a upgraded RSB would tend to make the car more neutral than Audi would feel comfortable with as a baseline set up.

Ended up installing it today. Very happy with it so far and I would say worth the money. I don’t think you need the end links unless you lower as everything buttoned up well while the suspension was under load at the stiffest setting. I recommend getting the rear mount inserts and diff inserts to install them all in one go which is what I did as removal of the rsb is necessary/helpful to install the inserts.
