Akebono pads and Centric high carbon rotors.

If you are DIY'ing, get a 9mm allen/hex bit for the front calipers.
    2013 A6 3.0T - Slightly better than poverty package.

    Past:
    2009 A4 2.0T Avant - Totaled
    2000 A4 1.8T - Sold
    1999 Millenia S - Sold, though it should've been crushed 'n cubed
1997 A4 1.8T - Totaled, repaired, sold years later better than before
1990 Maxima - Totaled from hail dents
    1987 Maxima - Sold
1986 Golf Diesel - Rusted and fell apart

If you like the factory rotors then get them from FCP Euro but get the ones packaged as Zimmerman. Zimmerman makes the OEM rotors and with buying them packaged as Zimmerman and not OEM you will save about $150 per front rotor. Can’t remember the brand but FCP sells a decent ceramic pad as well. Ceramic = low dust if any and decent stopping power.

This. Don’t assume you have one, you probably don’t.

Fcp has Textar or TRW for rear pads. Are these any good?

I got front and rear from FCP for my 2018 A6. Zimmerman zCoat as Valpo noted. IIRC, rear is textar. Front may be akebono. Either way, the car is smooth, quiet and stops just fine even from speed a good 3-4 times. Just fine for street and replaceable under lifetime warranty (less shipping cost).

I don’t know how the pads wii or I’ll hold up at the track give car plus driver = 4400lbs. So, if I was tracking, I’d go with a metallic pad.

LOTS and LOTS of posts/threads on brakes from owners that daily drive, drag race and those who run track days. Start reading, when your done let us know. We look forward to your reply in mid 2023. LOL.
To be honest the information here is overwhelming on this subject. If you choose to, you will read posts for days on end.

My A7 has been running on R1 Concepts brake rotors for about 80K miles now. I'm on the second brake set and still R1 Concepts rotors but switched to Akebono pads this time due to R1 Concepts brake pad availability when I needed brakes. Real happy with them.

Here are the Zimmermans with yellow pads. Good for racing. If you’re not, reds should be fine.

There are plenty of options like everyone has said though.

I've been told to go with EBC rotors, and EBC red pads.
    But I like aggressive brakes.
Dunno if those will improve things.
Got SS lines as well to help firm up the pedal. That will go on when I do brakes.

$600 front and back from FCP and lifetime warranty

Pretty similar parts as FCP. Hard to say which way to go other than you will save money on the next brake job using the FCP warranty. They will replace the parts or oil you return to them, just have to pay the shipping to send back.

Really? Even on used brake parts normal wear and tear? In that case FCP is the way to go.

They explicitly list brake pads and rotors on their FAQ so yes, including wear and tear items:

Yes, our lifetime replacement covers every single part we sell, including wear-and-tear items like brake pads, spark plugs, gaskets, rotors, filters, belts, wiper blades, etc. This covers every part across every brand, including OE, OEM, genuine, performance, aftermarket, and re-manufactured parts.
Just remember, you have to ship the old part back to them.

Their marketing strategy is nice, most owners won’t need multiple replacement of wear and tear items, but they gain you as a customer in the process.

End up going with the zimmermann and akebono front and rear from a local supplier for around $500, and was able to get them the same day. Fcp euro warranty is attractive, but I figured I may not even have the car when am
due for another set of front and rear, and I do not mind spending another $200 on a set of front/rear pads when the time comes.

    Happy with the zimm/akebono combo.
