New S6 owner question about braking and throttle response

    Hello everybody.

I recently bought a 2018 S6 and I absolutely love the car. This is the first modern German car I have ever owned. The tech is really cool but
I don't like not being fully in control of car.

What I mean is.... soft rev limiter, upshifting in manual mode before I hit the paddle (at less than full throttle), etc.

My biggest dislike is brake pedal response. I like instant braking when I hit the brake pedal and it seems like I have to brake 1 sec ahead of when I normally would (like say in my Vette) for the brakes to start biting. Also, during off idle acceleration there is also a slight delay. This is in dynamic mode / sport mode active.

I imagine this is programmed into the stock tune by the Audi engineers but it's annoying. Just wanted to check with you guys to make sure this is working as intended.

    Car is 100% stock.

    Thanks.

I will eventually get a tune and hopefully that will fix it. Do I have to just deal with it right now?

ECU and TCU tunes will help; you'll have to decide for yourself if they help enough.

If you want a firmer brake pedal feel, stainless lines MIGHT help a bit. But that initial travel will not likely be minimized.

I've got the exact same gripes with the platform as you. I'm still on the stock ECU/TCU tunes as well.

The brake pedal feel in these cars is by far the softest I've encountered in any Audi. The stopping action is there, it just requires more pedal travel. When I hop in our 2017 Q7 I always feel like I'm going to fly through the windshield the first time I tap the brakes.

Assuming you have OEM pads/rotors? If you don't like the initial bite with OEM, you wont like aftermarket pads where the initial bite is a bit less. Like JWebb said, stainless lines may help a little

Maybe I have gotten used to it, but I prefer being able to control the pressure in the S7 more, versus barely tapping on the pedal in my wife's jeep feels like I am learning to drive all over again.
