Replaced the orginal aging bulbs on my bi-xenons with the new osram cool boost d1s and going to reseal the housing with some butyl i got from theRetrofit since one of them occasionally gets condensation.

Any tips on cleaning out the old adhesive around the B7 headlamp housing?

I'm also missing a clip that holds the lens to the housing, wondering where can i get a replacement, and would one (1) missing clip cause issues even if i replace the seal?

I put mine in the fridge for about an hour and scraped out the old butyl with a flathead screwdriver. I also had lost a clip that sprung off for a side quest in the garage, and my headlights were fine.

I did, however, eventually find the clip later on and put it back. eBay would probably be your best bet for getting a replacement (search for A4 headlight lens clips, not just “S4”)
I'm still listening for that rattle!
If it rattles, it's because I baby it.

The old butyl comes out pretty easily. If it’s being a little tough I usually hit it with a heat gun real quick. I’ve found a flathead screwdriver works best for me. Also, now would be the time to do any painting or anything.

did a whole reseal of the headlights a couple weekends ago - pretty straight forward. I used a hair drier to heat up the butyl (after separation) and scrapped it out with a plastic flat head, screw driver would fit in the channel perfectly too.
