So the other day I was cruising down the road, that was recently finished down here by me. apparently I didn’t understand the layout of the road, and ended up attempting to drive straight in a turn lane. Long story short, it didn’t end well. I did get into a little rub with another car, unfortunately. The damage was very minor and it was basically just paint transfer from his plastic bumper to my car. The worst part is I made contact with the end of a curb, straight on and it blew both my left tires.

My first question is, how much damage do you think I actually did, suspension wise? Now that I’m looking at the photos of my car again, it looks like the front wheel is sitting a little further back than it should be. I’m getting all the tires replaced Monday, so we will see I guess once that’s done. I’m gonna an alignment done on it, because there’s no way the alignment stayed perfect.
Second question just cause I have your attention. I tried to work out a deal with this guy, and said I would be willing to pay for his vehicles damages (vs insurance) I’d like to keep my rates down and doesn’t seem worth it for something, that should be a cheap fix. Well he claims he took his vehicle in and got a guesstimate. He says they claim without pulling anything apart, they estimate just north of 5k! So to insurance it goes….

Also for reference the other vehicle was a 2012 Ford escape xlt. You’ll also notice the two spots on the rear part of the bumper, that look like either rub or spray paint. Those were there prior to the rub ( noticed via dash cam) so any of you body shop folks, does this seem insane or am I just out of the loop?
