Issue after swapping standard Recaro to oen Recaro bucket seats

    Hi All

Hoping someone here can maybe shed some light on a problem I have with a friends car.

I swapped his oen standard recaro's to OEM bucket seat recaro's.
They didn't have any airbags in them so i disabled those with a resistor ordered through Audi.

However I was still getting a passenger airbag light on dash and center console.
Dealer told me this is related to the seat occupancy switch.
Now the driver side seat had 2 connectors and passenger had 3 connectors(excluding airbag).

However I now found out that these seats come out of a UK car so a RHD which means things are reversed for this LHD car.

Anybody have any idea if this can be fixed?

    Thanks

You'll need to swap an occupancy sensor into the passenger seat, as your buckets probably didn't have one. Once you swap it in (It's a fluid-filled bladder with a sensor), you'll need access to vag-com to 'learn' the sensor to the car as well. There should be a few write-ups on here about how to do the swap.

Any way to see if they have it or not?
All I know is that passenger side(uk driver side) had 3 connectors and driver side(ik passenger side) had only two.

And I assume you need to remove the entire upholstery to do this and pull the wiring.

I've never seen B7 RS4 buckets that already had the sensor, but I could be wrong. Pulling the cover off the lower section is relatively easy for those seats. I just noticed where you're located, you may not actually have / need the occupancy sensor. First try swapping the belt receivers to account for LHD to RHD.

I have no idea. Honestly I didn't know he had ordered them from the UK until he told me after I started to look into the issue.

    I'll try swapping then over.
Initially the idea wat to move the ones from the old seats over.
But there was a wire connected to those, which I guess could be the occupancy sensor. So I left the original ones one.
I didn't check how they were wired and if it was at all possible to swap those over.
