WTB: Upper Control Arms, any condition

Looking to buy some upper control arms for a carbon fiber project I want to try. I will take them in any condition as long as the surface finish is decent and they arent bent.

    Thanks!

I’ve got a set that I took off over the summer. I was going to take them to the local recycler, but haven’t gotten around to it. Came off a lifetime southern car, so finish is good. Cover shipping and they’re yours.

Are you gonna try and make some control arms out of carbon? Like structurally strong, molded? That's a scary thought of testing them out, lol.

😂😂 I know. I’m not sure I’ll use them but I want to make a mold with an old set and see how they turn out. The ball joints at the end are a little bit of question mark in my mind but I’d like to try it out. I’ve been wanting to try a project like this. We will see!

Well good luck, be cool to follow
Carbon is fine for structural supports and, stuff, but idk about CA's. And don't really see the advantage?

I am very interested in making forged parts using chopped carbon fiber, and I mostly thought that might be a cool (and more challenging thing) to try and replicate that wouldnt cost much money. I am sure there are other things out there that would be easier, and cheaper but I like the challenges that it would present (like how to installed threaded inserts for ball joints on the end,). I am not sure I would ever feel confident about putting them on my car without doing extensive testing, but Ill worry about that later.

As far as advantages, I am not sure there are any. For now it's just an idea that sounds fun.

The original thought was to make CF body panels, but that looks harder to be honest. I have an extra front fender laying around I might try later on, but we will see. I want practice on something a bit smaller first. I have plans to make other experimental parts, and a small rear hatch wing (similar to the S-Line wing), but these are all going on in parallel. It is all a learning experience at the moment.
