    water meth set up

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know there's a water meth thread and I've read thru it without finding the information im looking for.
im currently running 034 stage 2+ 93oct INA TB + Testpipe . also running a snow performance stage 2 watermeth kit with the "6" nozzle.
am I able to run the 100 octane file with the watermeth? if so what boost level should I have it starting at? max boost? is the 6 nozzle large enough to provide enough wm? what happens if running the 100 oct tune when there isn't watermeth being sprayed?

im kinda a noob so these may be stupid questions but genuinely curious. TIA

I did the exact same thing minus the TB. Was able to use the 625CC nozzle(I think that's #6) spraying -20 washer fluid on a 104 file with 0 knock. Your LTFT AFR will self-correct the more you spray, but if you suddenly run out, you may be looking at a 15+% deficit in fuel. Don't run out. I ramped it from something like 6 PSI to full-on at 15 PSI or so. I haven't run it in over a year, simply lost interest in trying to be "fast", and I live at 7,000 feet, so dual pulley boost is 11 pounds at peak.

You have to log your car and send it to 034.
I have almost the same setup i think. I have two nozzles. 1 at tb 625ml and a small one i made at top of the supercharger. Im now starting to log the car.

Do you have a log of a pull? Im curious how your car runs.
If u have a datalog can u put it here?

you can but you shouldnt rely on it as your daily fuel source. all it takes is 1 hiccup for something to go wrong. also try not to use washer fluid, has detergents and what not. if you have to, spike it with yellow bottle HEET from walmart. look for m1 if you can.

what ever your MAX boost is, set the 2nd dial to 75% of max boost.
your starting should be between 5-10psi.

start with that and see how the car acts. if it doesnt feel like its bogging then set the first dial to a lower psi starting point. keep going until it bogs then turn it back up 1-2 ticks.

If you're talking about the 034 water/meth file, it's worthless. No more timing, all they do is pull ~20% of the fuel from the map so trims remain around zero.

Yes izzy i talk about 034

Have you test it? And did u get a bit more hp?
Im.now testing for myself wich settings are the best for snow performance and then send it to 034.
Later i will try the wmi file from 034.

I think the 100 file is a bit tricky to try?

034 wmi file used to bump timing and now they just remove fuel!?

    That's kinda lame..

As of a year and a half ago it was just fuel. It had the exact same timing as a 93 Octane map(16 or 18 degrees, I can't remember). I was pissed after going back and forth with them several times just to get a map that made the same or less power due to pumping losses and slower combustion. I love their tunes, period, but this one offered absolutely no benefit to me. I simply ran the 104 map(after logging) while spraying and picked up a ton of power with the extra 10 or so degrees of timing it offered. The 100 Octane map was only good for 2 degrees if I remember correctly, it was negligible.

Nice setup! Can you hear the pump from the cabin when it’s running? Always been curious about mounting in that location.

Ok just so I’m understanding this correctly, your saying as long as I’m shooting meth I’m starting at 5 psi and full spray at 15 psi I should be ok to run the 104 octane tune?

whats your current meth mixture? and are you measuring by weight or volume?
what nozzle size are you running and where?

in general, yea you can start at those settings. just make sure you are max spraying BEFORE you reach max boost.

Sorry to go off topic here…

I have the same solenoid and pump in the picture above (snow kit). I’m having an issue where my solenoid only opens once and then stays closed. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m trying to test the system and I can only get it to spray once. After that, solenoid closes and will not reopen (even though pump is running).???

It’s almost like it is hydrolocked or something. Once I disconnect and blow through it - it works again… until I hook it up to the pump again and then it only opens once…confused here.

is your solenoid on the same 12v line as your pump? if it closes then that means its not receiving power. theirs no real way to test it unless you had an led attached to it as well so you could visually see if power was going to the solenoid.

this is 1000000% why folks should not run solenoids lol.
a simple check valve is all you need.

if folks are running a high octane file and relying on the meth crutch and if something fails, .... ouch!

Thanks All! Figured it out. My testing parameters were too low. I turned up the start pressure to 5psi and all solenoids worked just fine. Before I had it to start at 2psi. I’m guessing the voltage just wasn’t enough at the lower levels. Thank you!!!
