    B9 S4 - tire pressure?

    Hi everyone,

    I'm new to Audizine.

I've read some threads and not clear on what the ideal tire pressure is for winter performance and summer performance tires.

I have the stock 19" (black optic) Continentals for summer performance tires, and the Michelin Pilot Alpins for winter performance tires.

Some ppl say rely on the sticker on the driver-side door, and some say it should be below.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The stickers on the door will allow you to carry the maximum payload possible in the car. The owner's manual has pressures dependent on tire/wheel size which will give better performance vs. max load.

And to add to this before someone says the sidewall of the tire says 55psi. The pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire is the max PSI for the max load rating of that tire. So if a particular tire has a 1750lb load rating, then times 4 that means the set of 4 tires can handle 7000lbs. Once you subtract out the curb weight of the vehicle and the normal occupants the remaining difference is the cargo weight that Audi certifies the vehicle to be capable of hauling.

I am running the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires on my B9 S4, I run them at the 41psi front and 42psi rear setting from the door car, most of the time it is only me in the car. I like a firmer ride so that works for me, with that as said read the manual as it gives you the weight ranges and suggested tire pressures for the weight you will be at. You can use that as a starting point.

if you want the best traction (largest contact patch), the lowest psi availble for your car based on the owners manual
on my RS5, i use 36 front and 33 rear
since i don't go over 100mph since i live in virginia, i believe the penalty now is you lose your left kidney and your first born child
plus i am usually alone in the car ir with my wife/son, so no need to use the 39/35 (full load)

    39 front.

    33 rear.

    Go out in the rain.

Find a curve with nobody around.

Run it fast as you need to, til you get the rear end ta step out.

It will tell you what you need to know, in the dry.

Thanks everyone, for all the responses.

Does everyone think that the owner's manual pressures are also applicable to winter performance tires w/ same measurements?
