I've done a lot of research lately but most of the threads are a little old. I wanted to get opinions on stage 1 tunes. What are you running? What are the suggestions? I won't be going to the track, just looking for increased responsiveness and sound.

    ECU /TCU Flash Tunes
    IE - @ home with flash cable, ECU/TCU tunes, Stage 1, 2, 3
    034 - @ home with flash cable, ECU/TCU tunes, Stage 1, 2, 3
APR - ECU tune, Stage 1
Unitronic - @ home with flash cable, ECU tunes, Stage 1, 2

    Piggyback Tunes
    Burger JB4, Racechip

I am not sure on APR/Unitronic if they offer TCU tune built into there ECU Tune.

I think on the ECU flash it's either 034/IE since you can tune from home and they both have good support. I feel APR/Unitronic are not as popular as they used to be.
With 034 I think Stage 1 most people upgrade to the Stage 2 TCU tune not sure if people do similiar with IE tune.

https://www.034motorsport.com/dynami...s4-s5-sq5.html Go to bottom do see differences between tcu tunes.

I will agree, getting the full tcu tune will give you the drivability results along with the added power.

If you want sound 034 has the valves open and burbles as IE retains stock sound on stage 1.

Was kinda thinking 034 cause of the TCU tune. We will see who else responds. Thanks for the info.

I went IE stage 1 ECU/TCU tune about 2 weeks ago and am loving it so far. My local shop is an IE dealer so it made the most sense for me but honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with IE or 034.

The car is definitely faster and more responsive, more burbles when downshifting as well. I also went with a resonator delete which adds to that.

Both IE and 034 include Stage 1 TCU tunes with the purchase of a Stage 1 ECU tune so pretty equal there too.

Agree with most of the previous posts, IE and 034 are the most popular with the most support. Both have Stage 1 TCU tunes included with the Stage 1 ECU Tune. Both produce similar numbers and have great drivability.
I am running IE Stage 2 with TCU tune and the car feels great, loud with burbles and pops when in Dynamic and more subtle with no burbles or pops in Comfort. (Best of both worlds IMO)

Did some dyno runs a few weeks ago and all the runs were extremely consistent and strong. I am very happy with the IE tune and their product support.

Just saw that IE is releasing a Bluetooth mobile tuning software starting with the b9 s platform first quarter of 2023. No more laptops or cords!

Interesting. Wonder what they will do for existing customers?

Watching the video on instagram looks like it already exists in the powerlink. It's the small button for bluetooth.

Great let us know how you like it. FYI usually most of these companies have decent % off for black friday sales. That is what I am waiting on.

Oh well, guess I could have waited but I'm an impatient person.

A few months later [insert SpongeBob meme here] lol... I finally got around to putting together the dyno footage.
These runs are on the iE Stage 2 E85 tune.

I think the extra crackles/burbles 034 offers vs IE can be a decision maker on which tune one chooses. IE doesn't have it until you go Stage 2.

Whatever happened with IE’s Bluetooth tuning option? Did it ever release?

    I installed the 034 Stage 1 ECU/TCU tune a few days ago.

No question the TCU tune works as I've noticed much better drivability. And the sound in Dynamic mode is certainly noticeable and sounds really nice. There is an incremental increase in power, but it already was a fast car to begin with. I'm using the 93 file and will eventually venture to E85. But overall, I'm happy with the results. Lastly, the upgrade process was simple and quick. Did it in my garage and took a max of 20 minutes.

This is great to read, I've been on the sidelines looking at tunes and it had really boiled down to which one I can flash on and off of my car as I will need to from time to time. Knowing it is straightforward and quick is what I wanted to read!
