    Pre-facelift vs. facelift taillights

I know there is a difference between the sedan pre-facelift and facelift taillights. But I'm not 100% sure if there is a difference between the avant taillights?

I'm pretty sure they are different, I have a friend with an 01.5 A4 Avant TQMS, beat to hell and has one facelift tail on the right and a pre-facelift (clearly from a Junkyard) on the left. Looks pretty funny at night. This isn't a guarantee but I am fairly certain there IS a difference.

There is a difference. It looks pretty subtle, though. Mostly the Reverse Lens is modernized with a higher clarity look:

    Pre-facelift USA, Right side (8D9-945-112):

    Facelift USA, Right side (8D0-945-096D):

Notably, the bulb carrier is the same part number. So they only updated the look of the lens, but the positions of the bulbs and their function all remain the same. This is not the case for the Sedan, where they actually moved the bulbs around.

Thanks guys. I wanted to verify that there is a difference before I buy a pair of euro taillights. These are the 2 brands available TYC and Depo in the picture of the Depo ones it doesn't look like the turn signal would blink orange as it looks like that part of the lens is all red? I thought all euro taillights blink orange since that area of the lens has a different color of that area for the turn signal?

Both of the USA Avant lenses (pre and post facelift) have amber turn signal color. Somewhat disguised from the front - better seen from the rear:

    8D0945096D (USA facelift)

    8D9945112 (USA pre-facelift)

That maybe so but the turn signal doesn't flash orange.

What is the better brand to buy TYC or Depo?

Is there a market for a used pair of facelift avant taillights or throw them away? If there is, what are they worth?

I have an avant with at least 1 cracked tail light. I'll give you $40 for the pair shipped to 16507.
