GIAC STAGE 1 ECU TUNE FOR MY AUDI S3

I have Audi S3 2015. I am planning to have GIAC Stage 1 ECU tune, but wondering if DSG tune is necessary for stage 1 with ECU.

And also is it normal that car going to one more step forward with low gear when brake and stop? some people said DSG transmission, it is normal, and other said that is one of the DSG malfunction symptoms.

shifting is good and smooth, no slipping, but only when stops, braking is not smooth and car tends to go one step forward and stop. I need to stop paying more attention.

My car is 52,000miles and never had DSG oil change yet.

I just want to hear you guys opinions.

Stage 1 typically doesn't need DSG tune. Dunno about the brake and stop thing, though doubt it has anything to do with tune. Its normal for it to downshift all the way down as you come to a stop though.

Initial DSG oil change is 35,000 miles. So your WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY OVERDUE!

Which is bad for the DSG....

    Good luck.

My suggestion is that you definitely pick up a good DSG tune, and then get an ECU tune if you still feel like you want more change.

The DSG tune can significantly change how the car drives both at partial and full throttle. There's a good amount of variation in how DSG tunes drive so you'll want to research it a bit. I don't have experience with the GIAC DSG tune to give you input on it.

For protecting of the DSG, I was worried if I need to flash the DSG too with stage 1. I heard it will slightly wear out the DSG if my car has only ECU tuned.

Well, the vendors say its not needed generally. I didn't on stage I, but did on stage II.. Its not that expensive in the grand scheme of things, so if in doubt, do it I'd say.
