    Hi pitch screeching noise at idle

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Sudden loud high pitch noise from engine bay at idle or deceleration. Goes away under load. Car runs perfect. No codes...etc. Any ideas?

    Likely the pressure control valves

    Thank you namvar . Yes diagnosed the passenger side pcv and replaced it with a new one($340). Loud high pitch sound did NOT go away! Just ordered the driver side. Had no choice! I am hoping there is no other component in the crankcase breathing setup that could be causing the loud sound. I will know tomorrow if the $680 I just spent was not money out the window!

    Second valve cured the problem. $680 for two hoses and two small rubber diaphragms. I am in the hydraulic manufacturing business and can vouch that there is less than $8 of material in these. The Germans take the US consumer for a long ride and not just litterally !
