Getting one of my other cars wrapped tomorrow...questions?

Tomorrow I'm getting the zl1 wrapped in Hidden Forest. Back in the day, I had a 1996 Mystic Cobra that I loved, and then after Ford brought back that color on the 04 Mystichrome Cobras, I really wanted one of those. Sadly, I never got one. So I've decided to reproduce that color as close as possible with this particular wrap. Anyways, is there anything I need to be aware of, or prep for, or do, prior to dropping off the car at the shop? This is the first time I've ever wrapped a vehicle.

Also, for any of you who have owned a wrapped car, how do you maintain it? Is there a special wash you use? What is the best and safest way to keep it clean and looking good for as long as possible? This weekend, i'd like to order whatever supplies I'll need to wash the Camaro. On the rs3 and Tesla, I just use the 2 bucket method with a brand new sponge every time. The cars are swirl mark free and still looking great, but idk if that same method works well on wrapped cars

I've never had my car wrapped but, I've had various components of my car wrapped. Such as the hood on my SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE. There are some wrapped parts on my TTRS, too. Either way, I didn't do anything prior to the prep but, the shop that did the work thoroughly explained their process to ensure good adhesion and gave me tips to extend the life of the wrap once it was completed. Namely, ceramic coating it. Also, the shinier the wrap, the more likely it will incur swirls, even due to the install. Lots of wraps have significant orange peel, too. Make sure to check that out, also.

I have owned two cars that were wrapped, including my RS3 currently. When I wrapped mine I washed the car multiple times using a wax removal soap and I also clay barred them in between and then did a reset wash before I started wrapping. I think the shop would do a similar process to ensure that the wrap adheres to the vehicle properly.

For maintenance, I ceramic coated mine with Car Pro’s CQuartz Skin. For washes I use Car Pro Reset and wash the car using the same two bucket method you mentioned. I just avoid hitting the corners or edges of the wrap with the pressure washer. Been doing it this way for a few years and I have never had any issues

Thanks guys. I'm having him do the ceramic coat thing after the install. I decided to tint the windows also.

I always get nervous when people start swinging razor blades around my paint!

Totally agree. However, I wasn't a fan of the paint color I got on this zl1 (beggars can't be choosers - inventory was very limited when I purchased), and I can always change wraps as needed.
