I want to add that it is we, not the EVers, who are truly "going green" by keeping these old cars going. "EVs are greener" is a no-brainer, right? But in 8-10 years when they all need battery swaps that will cost more than the cars will be worth, so the majority of owners will junk them and buy new EVs.
Every one of those new EVs will take as much energy to manufacture as a typical IC car uses in fuel over its entire lifespan.
