    B9Allroad, lets talk defrost

My new to me AR seems to struggle to keep up with defrost. I had one day last week the passenger window froze a bit in the AM and cleared in about 20 minutes. This AM it was around 30 degrees with a heavy frost and had rained the last few days, the car initially defrosts OK, but moments after dialing back the defrost it creeps right back(I have noticed this in the rain as well). The only way it finally held back was with using the max defrost button. All my previous cars have not required using the max button in what I would call normal conditions. I have looked for moisture, don't really see and certainly do not smell any that would cause the condensation inside on the glass. My questions are- How does your B9 perform in defrost(is it a design thing)? Are there any drains I should check in an round the dash/firwall are. I checked the drain slots behind the door gaskets on the bottom, they are clear..... I am happy to not find any moisture upon inspection, but feel like it may be hanging somewhere. I did check the boot for moisture as well, there was none.

Also note that the climate control system is the same for all the B9 A4 and B9 A5, so be sure to look through those forums too, or include those vehicles when searching for information. Though I don't remember front side window defrost performance being brought up before.

My 2017 A4 sedan defrost / defogger works perfectly. I use the Max button just to defrost, then hit the auto button. I never get any fogging. Our 2018 and 2021 Q5 work perfectly as well.

What interior temperature are you setting to? I find you need to have the glass warmed up a little to stop interior fogging. Think Audi recommendation is 23C/73F
