Trunk Release wont work (key, door, nor trunk) 2015 A4 - NO voltage to connector B8.5

OK, search threads, but no exact one for this issue (?!?)

I can't release trunk from driver's door, nor remote key fob, nor from the trunk switch. I don't hear the actuator pulsing at all.

I manually release trunk by crawling inside. I removed the trunk cover from inside face of trunk lid. I removed feeding connector to release solenoid and put volt meter on every combo of the 3 wires and hit my trunk release on key fob. NO voltage readings at all.

    So, questions:

    - is there a fuse or relay for this function ? (searches online for fuse line ups only show Allroad rear hatch power mechanism).

    - Also, on my 2015, it looks like the solenoid and release mechanism are ALL ONE assembly. Audi dealer parts dept showed same on parts blow up. Whole assy is $ 153.

    thanks.

The trunk lid locking motor unit has a three pin plug.
    pin 1 - green/yellow - voltage from the J393 T32d/4 to the contact switch
    pin 2 - brown - ground
    pin 3 - green/red - voltage from the J393 T17o/5 to the motor

So you should measure 12v from 3 to 2 when opening the trunk. Do you measure 12v from the battery positive to the pin 2 (ie, is the ground line good). If you backprobe pin 5 on plug T17o (17-pin black), do you measure 12v from it to the battery negative when opening the trunk (ie, is the 12v line good; you already said you don't see 12v from pin 3 to pin 2 when opening the trunk).

Don't believe there's a fuse specifically relevant to this function. The 20A fuse for the J393 (right rear, column "B", fuse 11) probably powers this circuit, as well as most of the rest of the J393 functions (ie, if you can lock/unlock the car with the key fob, that fuse is fine).

The lid latch/actuator p/n is 4F5827505D (VAG dealer price $123, but don't pay that).

As Smac notes, you should see 12V when J393 gets a rear lid actuation signal (either from the rear lid handle, driver door switch, or remote fob).

Any DTCs reported at Address 46: Central Conv. (J393) ? --g

FYI - you can release the trunk by popping up the bottom backseat cushion (driver side) and there is a latch you can pull. But this will likely break some of the plastic holders that keeps the seat bottom locked in - mine broke - it has some very slight movement but not a big deal. the method is in the manual I believe.

    :-P

I didn't think we got the valet mode in the US (the button in the glove box?). Maybe they changed that for B8.5.
