My s7 is reaching 60k Miles, feel the turbo don't respond as good when I brought it at 30 mile, do cars lost power when getting older too?

Old cars lose power... for many more reasons than just turbo age.

Fuel filters, injector health, air filter, even something as non-engine as transmission fluid... the list goes on.

If you think your power is down, start at the back of the car and work forward. Mileage doesn't define things completely, as one bad tank of fuel can do your car in!

If you can log, VCDS, HPT... even better as the butt dyno does age as well as the car!

Do a Stage 0 and see if you're still down on power, then start thinking hard parts!

    Cheers,

    KS

The Tesla comment makes this post seem like a troll, but if this is a serious question about your car getting slower, I would bet there’s nothing wrong with your car, you have just gotten used to the power and it now feels slow compared to when you first got the vehicle. It’s happened to all of us.

If you have spare time, search the OP by name. Doesn't ask questions too often but many AZ users have concluded they are usually off-base.

Yes cars will lose power over time and mileage, but to lose noticeable power by 60k miles is not normal. My A7 at 75 miles feels nearly the same as when I bought it at 34k.
Are you keeping up with regular maintenance? If you're hooning on the car frequently, it will necessitate a more strict maintenance effort.
As far as power goes, the main culprits are air and fuel, so start by checking those related components (air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, injectors, etc)
If the basic components are okay, then you will have to take a more in depth mechanical/electrical diagnosis to find if there is a malfunction somewhere.

My S7 ran a 12.17 @113mph with under 10000km on the speedo. This summer with close to 40k best i could get was a 12.7, consistently a 12.9-13.3. Plugs and air filter recently changed. I went back to the track similar times of year making sure DA was similar too. Car feels good, launches hard, new tires hook better, same fuel, shifts great, just slower. Once warranty is up I'll DS1 and turbo but until then this will have to suffice.

That time is as if you were losing 90-100hp. I'd data log the car and see what it says. Do you know if you have exceeded the launch limit for the transmission?? With how close you are to the track, I'd be out there more often. Takes me 1h45mins to get to Cayuga and 2h28mins to get to St Thomas. I've had days where it rained in Cayuga and then we hit Hwy3 for 1.5 hr drive to St. Thomas after a phone call of course.

Sparta dragway is a 20 minute drive from home. Test and tune every Friday night. My amax count is under 30. Bought the 4 year old car with 1692km and Zero launches on the counter. Deal of a lifetime. I will hook up vag com and check boost pressures on day here when time permits. Like I said, everything feels great.

Sometimes I wish I lived closer to the track, but it's a beautiful drive and the A6 eats up country roads like it's a free buffet. A group of us usually go and it is a bit of a pilgrimage.

So I found some time to data log via vcds and it shows the car asking for 4-6 lbs more boost than what it is receiving. It had gone in for a spark plug change first thing this summer after pulling it from winter storage and I suspect the dealer pulled the passenger side vacuum line off the diaphragm. After I found the issue and plugged it back in it now pulls like a freight train again. Too bad the local drag strip is closed. Data logs show car making 16psi max and asking for 12 psi max. I took my hpa -1012 X 0.0145. Not sure if I did that correct?Screenshot 2022-11-05 163013.jpg
