    *Armed n Dangerous* S6 Downpipes ARM Motorsports Review

    Hey Audizine Family.

    We have another Motorsport player in the game, ARM motorsports. I am not affiliated with the company nor was I paid for this post.

    With that being said, I am happy that I found this company while on my search for used downpipes. Anytime a used downpipe hits the market its around 900 plus shipping and sometimes that doesn't include mid pipes nor install hardware. They included a swag bag and some candy too! Gotta love it. Trick or treat...

    ARM motorsports is selling the downpipe for 500 bucks. You heard that right! Well you read that right! And for another 400, you can add the mid pipes to the mix. Lifetime warranty! Yes sir. I signed right up. I purchased the downpipe and the midpipes. In addition I purchased the 02 sensor spacers as my state has inspection requirements.

    Best part yet it comes with an installation kit and the actual pieces look amazing.

    Their customer service is exceptional, the purchase transaction was smooth and fast. And the shipping was fast and ofcourse comes with tracking information.

    This post says it's a review however my car is at Tyrol Sports getting the pipes installed.

    The welds look awesome and I haven't heard about any hiccups about regarding the install process.

    I have my handheld with a Eurocharged stage 2 file ready to go when I pick up my car. I cannot wait to hear the car (with non sport mufflers) and feel the new software n hardware combo.

    Awesome! I just got mine today, I am interested to hear the non sport exhaust with these. Seems like everyone has sport exhaust or some sort of cat-back, I bought the downpipes only, and I also have a standard exhaust.

    Are these catless or catted? I was told catted ones are not ready just yet, it was going to be $500 for the ones with 3" piping and 200CEL cats inside of them.

    The video format is not supported by the app.
    However I finally get sound out of the non sport exhaust.

    The cats are the most restrictive sound barrier in the non sport system.

    The car now has audible burbles and pops... are very visceral.

    I'm going to try to see if I can find another way to add a sound clip or post it on YouTube or Instagram for reference.

    I love it by the way.

    Many people or that one guy with the s8 and post draggys weekly. Lol.

    I feel the difference. I need more time behind the wheel. But switching lanes under load is a bit my hair raising than before.

    The butt dyno says there is gains.

    If the turbos blow I will upgrade them I won't touch them prior to terminal failure.

    I can't even imagine driving this car stock. Night and day difference. Wish I had a draggy to give more concrete numbers.

    Sounds mean brotha! Just got a set of these installed on my S7 as well, but I'm running full straight pipe w/ after market valved exhausts and I have to agree, the butt dyno def says there's some gains, be it minimal or huge, it is felt... will post a review as well soon as car is out of the shop, getting new front axles!

    They actually dont really smell on e85, it's barely noticeable to me and the several people who have ridden in my car. I would imagine on 91/93 yes they would definitely give the cabin a noticeable burned gas scent, but hey to each their own

    Poverty Pipes...that one I'm going to use in the future.

    Had an RX7 with a blower, aftermarket exhaust manifold and straight pipe from there out the back as a kid. Those days of smelling like gas are farrrr behind me. Cats or go home! :D

    To each their own. Let's not defecate on people choice of products because it doesn't align with your idea or green ideology.

    I'm not paying 3k for catted pipes. For Marginal gains. I will pay a third of that price for these gains the sound and perceived performance.

    Of course it smells. Roll your window up. And if you can smell it while driving you have other issues.

    Marginal gains? Is this something one read or experienced?

    These Marginal gains definitely make my car move better and the skinny pedal feel more responsive.

    are you digging people that bought catless pipes? Sounds Funny coming from someone who spent bank on an exhaust that actually provides ZERO gains.
    Marginal gains and inexpensive mod > no gains and expensive unicorn exhaust.

    Your profile says you have an akrapovic exhaust. How many hp and torque that added. Or you just wanted to sound fast?

    I'm currently running I.E's e85 stage 2 tune w/crackles and I.E's TCU tune as well, car is pleeeeeeenty fast and pulls harder than some exotics I've been in and sounds insane... I kinda wish I went DS1 for the tinkering and custom tuning capabilities, but at the same time I also love how straight forward I.E's tunes are... Being I'm not really the huge type to log and custom tune and repeat that cycle over and over until I get desired output (have 2 kids under 3yrs old dont got time for that lmao), I appreciate the flash n go aspect of I.E's tune I'm running now, hope to get sound clips once car is back on the road.

    Maybe when I.E releases the rs7/hybrid turbo tunes ill consider upgrade then, but for now as mentioned I agree with you the car is plenty fast, and the DP's definitely added to the overall driving experience.

    Akrapovic is a full-Ti exhaust; certainly no cat-back on this platform is worth its price in gains, but the desire is for the different sound Ti pipes make. Larger turbos and fuel is where the gains come from-- pipes aren't gonna make a shit of difference on stock turbos. Congrats on faster spool?

    Yes, I'm digging on those who remove emissions controls to make a daily driver smell like ass, and I have to smell it around town too. Race cars, different story.

    Glad you have money too waste for sounds and not even a little bit fast spool.
    If and when the turbos go. The downpipes will already be upgraded.
