    Fixed My Back Up Camera

My back up camera quit working.

A quick search turned up a a TSB for DTC 02203. TSB SB-10058587-8426

Followed the TSB and checked the wiring of the R189 reverse camera at connector T2az and T1y. Simply unplugged the connectors, cleaned the pins and reassembled.

Back up camera now works! (And saved a ton of money since the dealer would have probably just replaced the camera :-)

Nice. I had checked that when I was having backup camera issues, but issue was actually at the MMI control module.

Not sure about the sedan, but getting that interior trim panel back on the wagon tail gate *sucks*.

Mine just began to act up. The camera wouldn't come on when put in reverse, but the sensors still beeped. Eventually, it'd come on but the screen would flicker. The next day, things were normal. Thanks for the info as I'll use this if/when the issue continues to occur.

Are those connectors at the control module or the camera itself?

Connections are at the camera. You have to remove the trunk lid liner to access the plugs.

I have an intermittent issue with the camera on my 12 avant. I guess I'll try this trick to see if that helps event though the TSB says B8.5s.

I had this issue as well and Audi refused to check it because there were no codes. I had a flickering screen. So I unplugged it at the back, replugged it in, no issues since then. ONly thing is the plug's securing tabs are somehow locked and I can't pull the plug anymore, but that was like 5 years ago.
