I have a Bovee 1000, which is basically the exact same thing as the Tune2Air dongle that also plug 'n plays in the iPod dock, and it plays from the CD option. Check to see if your satellite radio receiver in the trunk is still there, AND plugged in and functional. I wanted to remove and sell my receiver because I don't use it, and wanted to use the drawer space for something else. Yet when I unplugged the receiver I could no longer hear the music from my phone via the Bovee 1000 unit, but could still hear the radio.
Somehow, Bluetooth connectivity via the iPod dock relies on the satellite receiver remaining plugged in. Also, there is a connector behind the front passenger side kick-panel near the right foot area. Pull up the plastic door sill, look behind that plastic kick-panel to see a pinkish (or possibly orange) colored plug with about 4-5 wires coming into it. There are two spaces it can be plugged into. Of the two, it should be in the one closest to the front of the car. If it is in the one closest to the seat, unplug it, and move it forward to the other space directly adjacent to it closer to the front of the car. This is supposed to signal to your CAN-BUS or MMI system that you have a satellite receiver installed. I had assumed that if I moved the plug to the position that indicated I did not have a receiver installed (closer to the seat) that it would fix my issue, and that I could omit the receiver, and hear my Bovee streaming from my phone. I was wrong, lol.
If anyone knows a way around this, where the XM/Sirius receiver can be deleted and still have iPod dock Bluetooth capability please post a solution. Unless it plugs into some other area besides the connectors for the satellite receiver that I am unaware of, a diagnostic fiber optic MMI "loop" does not work in B7's the way it does in newer cars.
