    Grr

Not only does this not fit properly (and doesn't seem to want to stretch to slot in properly) but there are also a few splits in it, which explains my MIL!

Is this the source of a very quiet, high pitched whine/squeal noise i take it?

Either way, since I need to replace it, are there any recommended upgraded ones at all?
    Thanks as always!

Shouldn't cause a CEL(mil), its pre MAF. Maybe heat gun, and stretch it out.. Or replace with new.

take it completely off the car and take a look inside the duct. There are grooves/slits the pieces need to slide into to alight properly.

Upgraded air intakes do basically nothing for us. Just cut off the bottom of the stock airbox, add a pipercross or K&N air filter, wire mesh over the cut out, and boom, you have whoosh noises and turbo spool sounds. For tunes, maybe consider stage 2 before you decide. For tuners I'd recommend Motoza.
