Need help/diagnosis

I have a 2013 a4 allroad. (2.0t) It just started making a rattling/ticking noise when I accelerate. It's pretty faint but noticeable. I don't hear any rattling/ticking when the car is idling. I also don't hear anything when I rev it when its stationary. I don't hear anything when the car is rolling at a decent speed either. Its only when I accelerate. Anyone know what this could be?

I checked. There are no codes.

Lots of things could be happening when under load like that. Could be as simple as a loose heat shield or a stray bolt/lost tool somewhere in your bay or undercarriage.

I had a similar issue. It turned out to be my spark plugs. I also eventually changed out my coils. Issue hasn’t returned since. See below for my account of the issue - not sure if you are experiencing the same:

I only got the cel when I pushed it very hard and it flashed and then went off. During normal driving, the tick was on acceleration - no cel and no codes. A scan with obd eleven showed high misfire counts. What are you aiding to read your codes?

I know the noise occurs on acceleration but is it constant or does it increase as speed goes up?
