It looks like a little bit but it's all rusted under the factory sealant, i have to rip out all the sealant, sandblast, epoxy primer , put new sealant then i'll shoot some wax rustproof...
The factory sealant is a bitch to take out...
I think this is a defect, for some reason water infiltrates from the top, goes between the seams and can't get out, rusts under the sealant, so it may look like it's nothing there.....

Is this the upper portion of the front wheel well?
    Is this a "flood" car?

Well my q5 is from Nova Scotia and the rear has a lot of rust. But on the Front it is not that bad.

NikolaZ: You have rust on the body? or the rear subframe?

I have not seen any body shell rust, but plenty of surface rust on the rear subframe.

Why Audi uses galvanized steel or aluminum everywhere EXCEPT for the rear subframe (black painted mild steel) has always puzzled me.

Looks like what you would normally see on a pickup truck on the Northeast. You may want to consider POR15 as well. Q5's particularly do come with surface rust on the rear subframe. The sooner you can blast the rust off, the better. I wouldn't wait. If you are in the process of replacing rear sway bar, that might be the right time to tackle this. Your rust though is on a whole 'nother level.

Is that the seam sealer in the front behind the front strut mount? I noticed mine doing that on the passenger size I soaked it down in aviation grade corrosion inhibitor last fall.

Yes it is, mine was visible just a bit, when i ripped it out found all that, water infiltrates from the top and it is trapped under the sealant, its a factory defect in my opinion

This is the rear, under the inner fender near the rear door, same thing, water and salt puddles in that area goes under the sealant and rusts, removed the sealant, sandblast, epoxy primer, new sealant, asphalt undercoat, i hope that should do it...i shaped the sealant at an angle so that the water runs out instead of staying thereIMG_20220819_155506.jpg
