Alternating rear turn signal

I have a B9 S4 but was behind either an A3 or S3… couldn’t tell… and he was turn left and the turn signal instead of doing the outward motion was doing some odd alternating back and forth thing between the 2 left sets of lights. It looks pretty cool and different.

Any idea if this is a mod and if available on the S4?

No, that isn’t doable on the B9’s. You could retrofit the matrix lights which would have the animated stripe instead

Only other alternative is doing the sweep motion only without the brake light also blinking during the sweep. This is part of ECE and something I coded my blacklight taillights to do since I have the amber rear turn signals.

The mod was called Urban Joke in OBD11 if I recall correctly. I guess it’s not available but maybe if you look up how it works on the MQB platform you can do some googling around and try and get something similar.

Those clear taillights are sick tho.

Just checking, but there's no way to code out the brake lights blinking alongside the sweeping turn signals unless you have ROW taillights (like from Europrice or elsewhere), right?

Unfortunately there is no way to use North American lights like the Rest of World. The RoW taillights, wiring and setting of proper parameters is required to get the brake and turn signal to work independently.

^^^What he said. Unfortunately Audi never made blackline lights for post-facelift models and even the pre-facelift blackline lights are now NLA.
