    AWE Touring Exhaust Install

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, so I am about to order the AWE touring exhaust system for my B8 and I had some questions. Will it trip any CEL codes after install? Is it truly 'bolt on' or will there be any welding necessary? After doing some reading the install seems pretty straight forward but I wanted to see if anyone could provide me any tips or further info. Thanks

Hey man, Welcome to the forums.

Although members on here are happy share their knowledge, in most situations you'll likely find the answer you need faster by utilizing the Forum Search feature on the grey bar at the top of the screen. You can filter the search results by forum, so selecting the "B8 S4" forum will be the way to go for our platform.

If you haven't read the Sticky threads, please do, as they're extremely useful.

Regarding your exhaust question, the first result of a google search for the text of the title of this thread links to an official guide that will answer all your installation questions. No welding. True bolt-on.

Ok, my apologies. I was just interested in seeing what people said about the installation in general. Won't happen again.

I installed an AWE touring exhaust on my 2011 B8 S4 about 10 years ago. Yes bolt on. and No to CEL. Love the exhaust.

Alright cool thats good to know man, thank you. You have the touring, correct? Seems like the touring is the way to go as opposed to the track edition, and by the videos I have watched it seems well worth the extra $600 for the touring.

Sound is subjective, and polo is definitely not bad in that regard (if you have cats - polo is dreadful with test pipes imo). But from an objective standpoint, the polo is a terrible quality product made of awful materials. They also don’t stand behind their product or offer warranty support when it rusts through. If that wasn’t bad enough, the price point is a joke for the quality they offer.

If you live somewhere with no snow/salt, you’re basically just overpaying for a mediocre exhaust that will probably be fine. If you live somewhere that snow and salt is a thing, steer far clear.

How loud do you like it?
Touring with stock DP is not that loud.
It’s sounds great, just too quite.
I removed the baby resonators from the stock DP.

I have it. Install is fine, aligning the rear pipe/canisters/tips will take the most time.
