Mechatronic replacement required per Audi after 200 launch control done?

Found this in a different forum:

"The 2018 TT RS Launch Control is limited to 200 launches. After that the mechatronic module in the transmission needs to be replaced to get another 200 launches. Audi says they will replace it as many times as necessary as long as it is under warranty. After that it is a $2k expense. I have had mine replaced twice. Is this going to be the same for the 2019? Could not believe it when they told me, the dealer said they had no idea about this that Audi Germany told them after my second replacement."

Does anyone know if there is a computer code that will trigger after 200 launches/etc or another way you would know what the counter is, or if this is not even accurate?

A TCU tune can increase the launch counter allotment.
