i had this creaking noise for almost 2 months now and i can't figure it out. at first iu thought it was my speakers but they dont make any noise at all. like when i have the door closed and window up or down it makes a creaking noise once he car starts moving at idle car still no noise. i tried to replicate the noise but no avail. but if the noise is present and my car is moving and i open the door slightly the noise goes away. C7 A6 anybody have any ideas?

hi Ivan - at least for my A7 - I had the exact same thing - was more of clicking noise - what we finally diagnosed was that it wasn't any hardware on the door - it was the rubber surrounding the glass of the driver side window.

I diagnosed this by opening the window every so slightly - noise/clicking gone - or if I were to press against the glass slightly, noise/clicking gone.

I dressed the rubber with some cleaner/saturation/protection and its gone. The sound seems to come more when its the weather is getting dryer and cooler.

    Hope this helps a little.

hey Ivan - my sound came from the back corner of the window - if you were looking at the window from inside - the corner top left - close to the left ear if you were driving - left hand side driver
