Subject: TCU Compatibility Question for 2013 Audi S7 After Transmission Swap

    Hello everyone,

I’ve recently purchased a 2013 Audi S7 that had front-end damage. I replaced the seized motor and transmission over the weekend, and while I managed to get the car started successfully, I’m facing an issue with the Transmission Control Unit (TCU), which is currently locked.

I’ve called several independent Audi shops and tuning companies in my area, but none have been able to assist with tuning the TCU to work with the new transmission. I was wondering if it would be feasible to swap the TCU from my old transmission into the new one.

    1. Is the TCU from the old transmission likely to be compatible with the new transmission?

    2. If I do proceed with the swap, will I need to perform any coding or adaptation for it to work properly with the ECU?

    3. Are there any specific tools or equipment I should look for to facilitate this process?

Any advice or insights from those who have experience with this issue would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

you need to adapt the immobilizer with ODIS. any time you change ECU or TCU or other critical component it needs to be adapted.

You can read more about this on my swap thread. But the easiest way for you is to just go to the dealership or an indie audi shop that has ODIS to do the immobilizer adaptation. It is quick and easy for anyone that has ODIS
