    Hello,
Is there anybody who made swap an engines on the C7s? I have 2.8FSi and I'm thinking about swap to 3.0TFSi. What I need to do that?
Engine CHVA and transmission NPD. Actually I only need to know, if it is doable and what I need to change, engine only, transmission or only some parts etc...

Seems like a lot of work for a 0.2l gain. Not familiar with the 2.8s... what are you gaining over the 3.0 (which I am passingly familar with). I do know that in the 2.0 world, the Fsi and Tfsi are not that far apart and for most of the benefits, you can bolt on or mod. Some, like the 3 vs 4 lobe HPFP, you are limited but there are options.

You can't upgrade the 2.8 into a similar hp/tq range with bolt on or ECU work?

Inquiring US based minds want to know!

    Cheers,

I think he has an NA 2.8 engine, slower than 2.0T for sure. extra 0.2 L of displacement make all the sense when couple with boost. Why wouldn't you go with 3.0TDI instead of 3.0T btw?

I have 2.8FSI which is dead, and I have two options. Make general repair, buy another 2.8 or buy 3.0. It is only 0,2 different, but almost 100kW up. 2.8 has 150kW and 3.0 has 220kW in the base set and that is big difference. I also thought about the option of making general repairs and mounting a compressor from 3.0, but I heard that this is not possible. Both engines have the same body, and also mounting holes, but somebody told me that ECU from 2.8 cannot drive a compressor, but I'm not sure if it is true.

I don't want diesel engine from many reasons. One of them is that I'm driving shorter distances.

I can get engine by myself. I only want to know, if that swap is doable, and if anybody did that, what is needed to change with engine.

ANY swap is doable... with enough effort and $$... you can put anything into anything. Just look at Bad Obsession Motorsports and Project Binky!

Unless it's a like for like swap, you generally need to change EVERYTHING! Is it belt driven power steering or electric? is the AC connections in the same place or will you need the hoses too? ECU's.. most likely need the donor, but you need to know if it's compatable with the other modules (IMMO, TCU...).

Some swaps are easier than others... some aren't done because of complexity and lack of return on effort!

Good Luck though and keep us posted on your direction!
