yeah not for the 2022s, the ECU company (MG1) closed the door on the programing for the new models so it only works on the 2021 ECUs. 🙄

We can tune the Mid 2021's and 2022's if we have the original stock file. But we don't have them all.

Looking for some feedback on the tune. Really want to here about the experience is it smooth does the turbo smack you back anything!?
Second before I drive 2 hrs to be told the tune isn't ready for my ECU yet how could I know what number it is?. Local (PepBoys) style place scan tool?

Edit: On the subject of box codes and software versions. @Arin: Do you know if there are any TCU software updates for the C8 platform at all? I asked the dealer and they had no idea what I was talking about.

Would love your impressions of the low end tq. I ended up ordering a draggy, just wanna get some before and afters for comparison. Though really I don't care as long as it feels faster, I'm all about driving fun. So looking for the tq feeling.

Would love some feedback on how the tune feels compared to stock. These cars have a sluggish bottom end that kinda lags, but the stock tune top end is quite nice.

We don't have access to those codes at the moment. They aren't factory updates, so I don't suspect we will for a while.

It means I don't have your factory code, or a way to get it at the moment. I need that to write software for you. If the car happened to have a factory update, I could easily get that and write software for you.

I spoke to my tuner who's been doing APR tunes since basically day one and said don't hold your breath. S and RS models always get priority.

Sorry for the delay! Drove the car to work a few days this week and really got to open it up. Torque gain is amazing - really pushes you back in your seat. Accelerating down the highway onramp made me laugh at how well it pulled. Not needing a TCU tune is an added benefit. In Sport mode, a little bit of gas and the car instantly shifts exactly to where it needs to be to get the most out of the torque curve. Having had a few S cars, it definitely transformed the car to feel very similar to an S car but with the comfort and quietness that I wanted in the A6 Prestige. With that type of pull you expect a car to be loud but with a little bit of music and the acoustic glass, I literally can't hear anything outside of the cabin.

Anyone on the fence, I wouldn't hesitate to spend the money on the tune.

Don't want to speak for APR, but I've seen in years past that they'd accept taking in your ECU for new box codes and give you a discount for doing so.

Again, don't quote me, just what I've seen before on VWVortex.

If you do send it in, you'd be doing God's work.

Based on the model year, and what we've seen on several other vehicles with the same ECU type and year, it's unlikely it would (unless engineering specifically specified to do so). We're working through that now, but I can't speculate on an ETA as to when we'll be able to have ECUS shipped in again.

So, typically late, or mid year 2021 and up, most of the Bosch MG1 ECUs are locked in terms of file extraction (which is what happens when you send in the ECU). We can still flash software to them, but we have to already have the factory code, either through a factory update, or other more rare means. We don't like to flash them with a code that didn't originally come on the ECU, as that would prevent you from going back to stock, for whatever reason, and may have other consequences.

That's a bummer, thanks for the info. My understanding is the early c8 a6 ecus are unlocked, and the newer ones. I'm unlucky to be in the middle.

you mean from the A6? The issue for me is I had a B9 tuned and it was faster than my s6. Not complaining but the opposite is true for me so I am chomping at the bit for a proper tune for this platform. I might just JB4 the car for now, it's not so much that it's underpowered but the boost curve is massively front loaded, so it falls off too quick. Can't wait for APR to address that in a tune. Otherwise this car is better in every way over the B9 S4.
